The Rookery

Covington Way, London SW16 3BX, UK – 020 7926 6219

Had a lovely family lunch at the Rookery Cafe yesterday, meeting up with an old friend. The place was completely refurbished over the winter and is now "pretty cool" as my son says. Afterwards we strolled around the delightful Rookery gardens - the beautiful white garden is coming into bloom.

In the summer check this place out. No, don't argue. Do it

Dental Surgeries

The Wimbledon Dentist

130-132 Merton Rd, London SW19 1EJ, UK – 020 8544 0112

I'm not usually one to write reviews but this is hands down the best dental practice I've been to. The staff do an exceptional job and do their utmost to make you feel comfortable. If your a nervous patient then they immediately put you at ease and are really friendly and caring. Even after moving away to a different area of London I travel back here. Fantastic service!

This is the best dentist surgery I have ever encountered. I am an incredibly nervous patient and am very difficult to fully numb resulting in lots of painful experiences elsewhere. Aoife and Maggie manage to put me completely at ease, they are incredibly skilled, kind and knowledgeable and have provided excellent, completely pain free care. Every member of staff is professional and welcoming, and you feel completely in control the whole time. I'm so grateful to have found this surgery and would travel from anywhere to visit it.

MK Vasant MBE and Dental Associates

1210 London Rd, London SW16 4DN, UK – 020 8764 1424

Best Dentist in London. Strongly recommend to anyone for private treatment. Dr Manny Vasant is very friendly and caring. My last dentist was never as thorough. The whole team at the practice are warm and professional. The hygienist Ben is a wonderful man full of character. I now look forward to my appointments.

Excellent multi-disciplinary dentist with on site lab.

Trevelyan House Surgery

Trevelyan House, 160 Tooting High St, Tooting, London SW17 0RT, UK – 020 3883 5700

This is an amazing surgery with amazing staff both in reception and the clinician. They all do the best they can with what is made available to them. due to there amazing service, patient have become more demanding and rude and expect what ever they want to be done straight away. the reception are so friendly and helpful and work to the best of there capability with what is made available to them by there seniors. what patient need to realize is the reception are only capable of certain things with out having to go to a doctor. doctors are normally busy as-well so it wont be possible to immediately sort a query, especially in a surgery of this size.

I have never had any problems with this surgery. Always a positive experience.

The Greyswood Practice

66 Eastwood St, London SW16 6PX, UK – 020 8769 0845

This is the best practice I’ve ever been registered at. Once you have an appointment (which can be a bit of hassle as it’s phone only from 8am for same day bookings - with most gone by 8.15) - all of the staff are friendly and helpful. They have had a fair bit of rotation of GPs and Locums the last year, but it’s settled down again now. Appointments run pretty much on time and they are very accommodating. - especially good with children.

Can usually get an on-the-day appointment if necessary. All the doctors I've seen here are very thorough and easy to talk to. Definitely recommend them 😊

NHS Direct is now NHS 24. Just dial 111 to speak to a professional or click the link below for there self help website. Lots of really useful info but keep clear of heart surgery! If in doubt ask your GP or call 111. Good luck.

Just been to recycle all my bits, asked a man if they take domestic waste and he said yeah then he started picking all my bits up to dispose off, they are so helpful here everytime I recycle. Thanks croydon recycling 👍

They've started asking for ID now and the guy at the entrance just leaned in and put a sticker inside my windscreen. I was slightly annoyed that he didn't ask first but it's not the end of the world. Was I was in, the staff were fairly helpful telling where to dispose of waste I wasn't sure about.

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

Tiny Tots Nursery

I live in Norbury and I first came a cross Tiny tots nursery when I was visiting a friend in the Streatham area. I decided to view the nursery and my first impressions were really positive. I found the nursery to be bright and spacious and staff were very welcoming too. I chose this nursery as I felt comfortable and at ease with the staff and the setting. It has been over a year since my child has been going to Tinytots and he loves the nursery. I am really glad that I made the right choice for my child and I would recommend any local parents to try out this beautiful nursery.

Primary and Secondary Schools

Woodmansterne Primary School Playing Field

Stockport Road, London Area, London SW16 5XE, UK – 020 8764 1825

This school was the best, I was a student and I loved it and I still do. It was a nice and amazing experience, I enjoyed it from my first until my last day. Even though I left I still remember this place as my home and family. It was the best place ever I couldn't imagine going any where else it was my life and I will still remember this school until I go. I left 7-8 months ago and I still remember how this place was the laughter, fun and the teachers were amazing, they looked after you and cared for you like their children, they taught me right from wrong I learned so much. Even though they have changed it I still remember what it looked like. So if you need to send your kid to a school this is the one, they have many awards and achievements like oxford outstanding. This school is beyond all others and I couldn't spend my childhood some place else.

I love this school its the best by anthony

Public & Preparatory Schools

The London Acorn School

Morden Hall Rd, London SM4 5JD, UK – 020 8544 9769

My daughter has been attending the kindergarten for a year. The level of accommodation and dedication we have received is amazing. My daughter settled quickly (this is her first daycare experience) and has a great connection with her teachers. For me it was important that the school activities are age appropriate and that the child's emotional well-being is prioritised. I also felt spending time outdoors was important, as well as the respectful attitude towards children and letting them grow at their own pace when they are still so young. It's a lovely and close knitted parent community and our family has come to cherish this school.

We joined the school to attend the parent and toddler group when my son was just over 1. He’s now turning 3 and will be progressing to the school’s kindergarten (something we hadn’t considered prior to joining the school) in, January. I absolutely LOVE the school’s approach towards ‘education’ - I say ‘education’ because it’s a lot more than that. Every experience or interaction with a child is thought out, taking in to consideration the child’s physical needs, emotional needs, social needs and so on. I myself am very intuitive and have a holistic parenting approach which made me consider homeschooling as, I didn’t think I’d be able to find a school that actually understood children in their entirety. I was wrong though and I ended up finding an environment richer than the one I’d be able to provide my child with at home. I have learned lots over these past 2 years from my interactions with other parents and teachers at the school and I look forward to learning more over the years. I must add that, the staff at the London Acorn School are, extremely knowledgable and dedicated and Janice (the parent and toddler group leader) is a parenting GURU! I wish this school immense success (for selfish reasons of course)!

Date Valley School

Cricket Green, Mitcham CR4 4LB, UK – 020 8648 4647

Ma sha Allah a wonderful school. My daughter has been attending for 4 yrs now and we've never had any problems. Thank you date valley for giving my child the best start in life.

My 6 year old daughter goes to this school and now my 3 year old. I can say Date Valley is such a lovely school. It may not have the biggest p.e hall, biggest playground etc. But one thing it does have is 100% care and love. When I leave my 2 children I always walk away feeling safe and happy as they are in the hands of the best staff I've come across. I can say I have meet all teachers and always thought they are excellent with parents and children with activities and learning. I actually panic for secondary school time because I wish Date Valley has a secondary school for our children to go forward to. All Date Valley staff work to the fullest so keep on continuing what your doing.
